The Power Of Right Believing

If you want to live long in the LORD, you have to first live strong in the LORD. And to live strong in the LORD you have to be strong in the Word of God. Ephesians 6:10-13 The Word of God is the seed for every breakthrough you desire.

But you must believe every word of God that has been said concerning you before you can receive the fullness of those blessings. God needs something to act upon – FAITH

What you believe is so powerful! It can make you or break you. Many have failed and lost many good blessings ordained for them because of wrong belief system.

The evil things that we are experiencing today are often a result of the wrong beliefs that we have. Similarly, the good things that we are experiencing today are a result of blessings of right believing of God’s Word grace, love and promises for us, which makes us live in the abundance that Christ has come to deliver to us.

It is therefore crucial for us to understand the basis of right believing and use that to uproot every seed of wrong believing we may have. This will make us receive the fullness of God’s blessing, joy overflowing and full of glory.

Study Outline

In this post, we will cover the following outline:

  1. What is right believing?
  2. What is wrong believing?
  3. The foundation of right believing
  4. Wrong believing is the root of unbelief
  5. Kinds of unbelief
  6. 10 signs you’re believing right
  7. How to maintain and sustain a lifestyle of right believing

What Is Right Believing?

Right believing is a process of believing what is right? When I checked the synonyms of ‘right’ I found the following 24 words:

So, right believing means to believe what is true. John 17:17 ‘Thy Word is True’ Trusting God and His words is the greatest good anyone can do himself in this lifetime. This makes me remember this lovely song TIS SO SWEET TO TRUST IN JESUS:

Right believing means having faith in the revealed word of God and the written word of God above the physical evidences we may see, taste, hear and touch.

Meaning of Wrong Believing

Wrong believing on the other hand means believing what is not true. Romans 3:4 ‘Let God be true and every man a liar’. Anything that is contrary to the Word of God is subject to change, but the Word of God is forever settled!

There is no doubt, wrong thinking produces wrong believing and this results in wrong experiences. Also, you cannot grow in faith with wrong believing; instead, you will sink in fear.

The Foundation Of Right Believing

Most people are mostly moved by their circumstances than by the word of God. But the foundation of right believing is simply FAITH!

Faith is based on knowledge – 2 Peter 1:3

Everything you will ever need; healing, prosperity, joy, peace, wisdom and leadership are all given to us. These exceeding great promises are given to us through knowledge. But you need faith to draw it out, your mind has to be renewed in order to draw out all these.

Everything that you need, you already got in your spirit.

Faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of God while unbelief comes by hearing anything contrary to the Word of God.

3 Kinds of Unbelief

There are three kinds of unbelief you must avoid in order to stay strong in right believing:

IGNORANCE – lack of knowledge because you don’t know. How do you overcome this? Hearing the truth and you will overcome

DISBELIEF – this is belief but belief in the wrong thing e.g saying miracles is for the days of the disciples only. However you have to erase the disbelief first by renewing your mind and get hold of the truth Romans 12:2

NATURAL UNBELIEF – this is when you see something contrary to what you belief, you just trust your 5 senses than the word of God, what do you do when your sense knowledge is not working properly, that is trusting God fully? The answer – FASTING and PRAYER

Fasting and prayer affects natural form of unbelief when you fast your natural desire and craving for the things of the flesh decreases.

10 Signs You’re Believing Right

1. You’re able to believe God’s love – Lamentation 3:22-23

2. Developed capability to see the way God sees

3. You have won the battle for your mind – Romans 12:2

4. Free from self occupation

The end of self is the beginning of God

5. You have a confident expectation of good

6. Found rest in God’s love

Understanding the love of God is the main key to walking by faith
Ephesians 3:14

7. You are not burdened with loads of care

8. Fear is not in your life – Isaiah 41:10

9. You see yourself as God sees you

10. You hunger and thirst for righteousness – Mathew 5:6

Benefits Of Rights Believing

Scripture reference: ROMANS 5:1-11

With particular reference to Paul’s letter to the Romans, we see a number of benefits that accrue to those who rightly believe in what God has already done, through His grace.

What are these benefits?

1. We Have Peace With God

We have peace with God.  “Therefore since we have been justified through faith we have peace with God.”  The war is over.  There is no more struggle.  God is not mad at me.  I’m not mad at God.  I’m not in rebellion.  We’re not fighting each other.  We’re in harmony.  There’s peace between the Lord and I.

The amazing thing is that God holds absolutely nothing against you any more, if you’re a believer.  We have perfect peace. Peace with God, peace of God which is peace of mind.  This isn’t based on performance but it’s through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.  It’s not my performance, a false peace that I’ve worked real hard and I’m pleasing God therefore God’s at peace with me. No.  The only lasting peace comes from the Prince of Peace.  So we have peace with God.

2. We Have Access To God

We have access to God.  “Through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace which we now stand.”  This word “access” is an important word.  Access to divine revelation, access to insights and uncommon ideas.

3. We Have Hope And A Future

We have a hope in life.  “… and we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.”  In the New Testament hope does not mean wishful thinking.  In the New Testament hope means confidence.  Hope means “I’m confident it will work out.”  Hope is essential to living.  You can’t live without hope.

You’ve got to have it.  Doctors will tell you that people in the hospital who don’t have hope don’t do well.  People who have hope get well much quicker.  Why are Christians so happy?  They have hope. They have a future.

As believers, we know that no matter what happens, no matter how many problems and trials we go through we know what the ultimate outcome is going to be – in our favor! We know what the final score is going to be.  We’ve already fast forwarded to the end of the game and we know we’re going to win. We’ve already read the last chapter in the book.

So we have hope.  Hope is confidence.

How To Maintain and Sustain A Lifestyle of Right Believing

Time needed: 2 minutes.

You can use this easy to follow guide to keep on shining in your right believing:

Take captive every thought coming into your mind that does not agree with the Word of God. Lead those thoughts away, and let them be replaced with ones that are obedient to Jesus Christ. In other words – change your mind and believe the Word!

    Scripture references:
    Proverbs 4:23, 2 Corinthians 10:5

Whenever you receive the Word with gladness, very easily, it imparts faith and courage to your spirit. It provokes supernatural growth of your faith and you will know it.

    Scripture reference:
And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified (Acts 20:32 )

Beloved, I pray today that the Holy Spirit will reveal to you areas of wrong believing in your life so that any hindrances to your breakthrough may be removed.

Just go to the Lord right now and ask, “Where have I believed wrong, Lord?” And let Him guide you into all truth and show you the way to your victory.

When you know the truth and believe right, you will live right, experience freedom from bondages and walk in the blessings of God!

Do These 5 Things And You’ll Never Grow In Faith

If you do these 5 things, you will never grow in faith! It is as simple as that. But I don’t want you to continue being a faith dwarf; so I really want to challenge you to grow in faith!

Perhaps, this is coming to help you navigate through the huddles holding you back from growing to be a faith giant that you want to be.

Out of the many steps to grow in the faith there are underlying factors that may negate each of those steps. The more these negative factors prevail and manifest in your life, the more difficult it will be for you to grow in faith nor achieve any meaningful thing in your Christian walk.

It may also hinder you from making quality decisions about everything else in your life that is so important: marriage, carrier, finance, ministry and a whole lot more.

This is why this article is important for you read at this time.

A little walk through of the many benefits you will receive after carefully reading and taking action on the points raised in this article. Apart from the fact that you will grow in faith, these things will also help you build outstanding Christian virtues, which are summarily:

  • Laying aside malice and backbiting..:)
  • Letting go of Shrewdness and choosing a more generous way of living
  • Hypocrisies and lying will be detestable for you
  • Envy will be a thing of the past for you
  • You will never speak evil from your mouth again, ever!

Now, lets get started.

Growing In Faith Can Mean Many Things To Many People

What does it mean to you, to grow in faith? To some it may mean believing God for their immediate needs, while to some it may just mean performing some big miracles. Whatever level you’re this article will do you good to shed more light on things you need to know in order to come up higher in your faith walk.

May you grow in faith and love as you receive these words today.

5 Things To Avoid For You To Grow In Faith

The focus of this article is those 5 things you should not do in order to grow in faith. So, in particular reference to 1 Peter 2:1-2, these are the things you must not do if you want to grow in faith:

1. Malice

Malice is a desire to inflict injury, harm, or suffering on another, either because of a hostile impulse or out of deep-seated meanness. By all means, lay aside malice, it will not make you grow in faith. Don’t keep malice, be friendly and show the love of Christ to others.

Scripture text – 1 Corinthians 13:4-8

2. Shrewdness

Shrewdness literally means being selfish. If you are self-centered then you’re teaching others how to be shrewd – you may not know this. But don’t be shrewd; it is good to share. Show some love and be interested in the good of others. This way, your growth in faith will be astronomical

Scripture text – Luke 16:1-13

3. Hypocrisy

The third thing you must avoid in order to grow in faith is hypocrisy.

This is the practice of claiming to have moral standards or beliefs to which one’s own behavior does not conform; pretense. An hypocrite is a person who pretends to have virtues, moral or religious beliefs, principles, etc., that he or she does not actually possess.

Avoid hypocrisies at all cost. It brings a dent on your integrity as a child of God

Scripture text – Mathew 23:27-28

4. Envying

To grow in faith and love, you should not envy your brother or sister. We must not envy one another but each one should seek the good of others. This is what the LORD desires for us.

Envy means a feeling of discontented or resentful longing aroused by someone else’s possessions, qualities, or luck. When you want something that belongs to somebody else then the love of God is not being shown to that person, how can you then grow in faith to believe God for your own.

The bible says where there is envying there is every works of the devil.

Scripture text Proverbs 14:30; “A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones

5. Evil Speaking

Evil speaking is also referred to as slanderous acts. Keep out all evil speaking. Do you really want to know how to grow in faith and spirit? And how to grow in faith as a Christian? Speak only the Word of God! Don’t speak evil.

God hates evil speaking. If you do this you will not even grow in your faith. Remember what happened to those who spoke evil against Moses in the scriptures, eventually Dathan, Korah and Abiram died a strange death as the ground opened up and swallowed them alive.

These things are written for our examples to learn from 1 Corinthians 10:11

Please carefully study Scripture text – Numbers 16: 1-30

What Does It Mean To Grow In Faith?

Simply put, to grow in faith means to grow spiritually.

It is to mature in both knowledge of God and in godly living; ultimately, it is to become more like Christ. Just as a person grows physically from infant to mature adult, a Christian’s life is designed to grow spiritually from baby to a mature Christian – Proverbs 4:8

In 1 Peter 2:2-3 we read, “Like NEWBORN INFANTS, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation—if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good.”

If You Fail To Grow In Faith, You Will Sink In Fear

Hebrews 5:12-13 This scripture speaks against believers who had failed to grow in faith:

“For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the basic principles of the oracles of God. You need milk, not solid food, for everyone who lives on milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, since he is a child.” As I said earlier, to grow in faith involves growing in God’s Word and the practical application; it’s that simple!

Please make it a duty to grow in the faith from today.

Examples of Those Who Fail to Grow In Faith

The Christians in the city Corinth are good examples of those who fail to grow in faith:

“But I, brothers, could not address you as spiritual people, but as people of the flesh, as infants in Christ. I fed you with milk, not solid food, for you were not ready for it. And even now you are not yet ready, for you are still of the flesh. For while there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not of the flesh and behaving only in a human way?” (1 Corinthians 3:1-3).

Paul notes that he began with feeding them “milk” or with spiritual basics. Yet they were still not ready for solid food, as their maturity was lacking. Can you imagine?

Jealousy and strife was common among them. No wonder they didn’t grow in faith! These are examples for us to learn from if we must grow in faith and fulfill the big dreams that God has for us. Again, the Word of God gives guidelines for living victoriously in this life.

As we dedicate time daily to read, meditate, study and feed on the Word, we’re transformed by the renewing of our minds.

The Bible says, “Let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will know what God wants you to do.”

What It Looks Like To Grow In Faith

In the example of the Christians in Corinth, you can see that lack of spiritual maturity was displayed in jealousy and internal conflicts. Living this way will make it difficult to make wise decisions that will benefit you. We can see, then, that growth in faith manifests not only in our relationship with God, but also in our relationships with others.

As we seek to grow in faith, rather than be jealous of one another or attempt to set ourselves apart as better than others, as was happening in the Corinthian church, we should have the attitude mentioned by Paul, “So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth” (1 Corinthians 3:7).

When our life is consumed with living for God and His glory, we are well on the path to growing in faith and being spiritually mature.

You Need Time To Grow In Faith

It is noteworthy to talk about how to grow in faith. Sure, you can grow in faith and knowledge of God. However, growing in faith requires both time and effort. God ultimately causes the growth, yet He expects us to follow His ways and seek to grow, becoming mature followers of Jesus who can help make disciples of others (Matthew 28:19-202 Timothy 2:2).

How To Grow In Faith

To Grow in faith, you must desire the sincere milk of the Word. The more of the Word of God you take in, the more your faith will grow.

We can cite the example of Paul. He rejoiced that the Christians in Thessalonica were growing in faith:

“We ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers, as is right, because your faith is growing abundantly, and the love of every one of you for one another is increasing”2 Thessalonians 1:3

They were always excited to receive the Word of God (with gladness) and this helped their faith to grow.

A Letter To Anyone Disappointed By God

Are you disappointed by God? Or disappointed with God? Even disappointed in God? Let down by faith? These are common emotions we all go through from time to time as we journey through life.

If God does not perform in the manner we think He should, we may conclude we’re disappointed by God. We become disillusioned with Him and dissatisfied with His performance. You can even say life is disappointing and this can lead to a wavering faith in God, especially in His sovereignty and His goodness.

Is it Wrong To Feel Disappointed With God?

Disappointment with God is not necessarily wrong or sinful; rather, it is a part of the human condition. The word disappointment means “a feeling of dissatisfaction when one’s hopes, desires, and expectations fail to come to pass.” When God somehow fails to satisfy our hopes or does not live up to our expectations, disappointment inevitably follows.

If God does not perform in the manner we think He should, we become disillusioned with Him and dissatisfied with His performance. This can lead to a wavering faith in God, especially in His sovereignty and His goodness.

When God does not act when we think He should act, it is not because He is unable to do so. Rather, He simply chooses not to. While this might seem an arbitrary or capricious act on His part, the exact opposite is true. God chooses to act or not to act according to His perfect will in order to bring about His righteous purposes.

All Things Works Together To Those Who Love God

He tells us in Isaiah 46:11, “From the east I summon a bird of prey; from a far-off land, a man to fulfill my purpose. What I have said, that will I bring about; what I have planned, that will I do.” Even the birds are somehow part of His foreordained plan. Furthermore, there are times when He chooses to let us know His plans (Isaiah 46:10), and times when He does not.

Sometimes we understand what He is doing; sometimes we do not (Isaiah 55:9). One thing we do know for sure: if we belong to Him, whatever He does will be to our benefit, whether or not we understand it (Romans 8:28).

5 Keys To Avoid Disappointment With God

  • Align our wills with His,
  • Submitting to His will in all things,
  • Trusting in His faithfulness,
  • Meditating in His words day by day,
  • Understanding the love of God.

Doing so will not only keep us from fear and being disappointed with God, but it will also preclude grumbling and complaining about the events that occur in our lives.

Example of The Isrealites

The Israelites in the desert griped and questioned God on several occasions, despite having seen miraculous displays of His power in the parting of the Red Sea, the provision of manna and quail in the wilderness, and the glory of the Lord that followed them in the form of a pillar of fire (Exodus 15–16; Numbers 14:2-37).

Despite God’s continual faithfulness to His people, they grumbled and were disappointed with God because He did not act as they thought He should. Rather than submitting to His will and trusting Him, they were in a constant state of turmoil and confusion.

Align With God’s Will And Know Peace

When we align our wills with God’s will and when we can say, with Jesus, “Not my will but yours be done” Luke 22:42, then we find the contentment Paul spoke of in 1 Timothy 6:6-10 and Philippians 4:11-12.

Paul had learned to be content with whatever God sent his way. He trusted God and submitted to His will, knowing that a holy, righteous, perfect, loving, and merciful God would work all things together for his good because that is what He promised – Romans 8:28.

When we see God in that light, we cannot possibly be disappointed with Him. Rather, we submit willingly to our heavenly Father, knowing that His will is perfect and that everything He brings to pass in our lives will be for our good and His glory.

Tired of God Lettings You Down?

Are you feeling disappointed right now? I would love to share with you in this letter, the principles that have helped me in times where life has been thrown up in the air and I simply desire to experience more relationship with God lest I give up. Fortunately, it has always ended in Joy for me.

In this in-depth study you will be learning how to deal with disappointment and what to do in the obvious scenarios painted as below:

  1. Tired of God Letting You Down

  2. When God Disappoints You

  3. Forgive Yourself And Forgive God

  4. Angry, Disappointed With God

  5. Why God Allows Disappointment

  6. God Mercy Overrules Our Mistakes

  7. God Never Let Me Down

  8. God Won’t Let You Down

  9. Can God Be Trusted?

  10. How To Defeating Disappointments

Angry And Disappointed With God?

When God disappoints you, do you get angry and disappointed with God? Let’s be honest all of us face disappointment from time to time no matter how much weight you have or how good of a person you are. Sooner or later something or somebody will shake your feet to its foundations. It may be something simple such as not getting that promotion you really hoped for, not closing that big sale that you worked so hard for; not qualifying for a loan to buy that house that you really want. It may even be something more serious as a marriage relationship falling apart, the death of a loved one or an incurable illness.

Whatever it is, doctor’s appointment process and so on. The most important you need to know is that disappointments will come. You need to learn how to stay on track and deal with them when they do. Be careful not to just become trapped in your past.

God’s Mercies Overrules Our Mistakes

The Bible says the mercies of God are fresh and new every single day.  God knows we’re going to make mistakes. He knows we’re not perfect so He provides fresh new mercies and grace every new day.

The Lord is patient towards us even when we feel down and discouraged when God disappoints you. He is never wishing that any should perish but for all to come to repentance. The thing is you must not become trapped in the past. If you’re going to avoid getting trapped in your past you must learn to forgive yourself. But then you must be willing to accept God’s mercy.  Please din’t be so critical of yourself that you wont receive what God has to offer.

when God disappints

When God Disappoints You

When God does not act when we think He should act, it is not because He is unable to do so. Rather, He simply chooses not to. While this might seem an arbitrary or capricious act on His part, the exact opposite is true. God chooses to act or not to act according to His perfect and holy will in order to bring about His righteous purposes.

Nothing happens that is out of God’s plan. He has control of every molecule that floats around in the universe, and God’s will encompasses every act and decision made by every person throughout the world at all times. He tells us in Isaiah 46:11, “From the east I summon a bird of prey; from a far-off land, a man to fulfill my purpose. What I have said, that will I bring about; what I have planned, that will I do.” Even the birds are somehow part of His foreordained plan.

Furthermore, there are times when He chooses to let us know His plans (Isaiah 46:10) and times when He does not. Sometimes we understand what He is doing; sometimes we do not (Isaiah 55:9). One thing we do know for sure: if we belong to Him, whatever He does will be to our benefit, whether or not we understand it (Romans 8:28).

Forgive God And Forgive Yourself

Maybe you have made some bad choices and now you’re trying to correct the things you’ve done wrong.  That’s okay. What you must understand is you can’t always repair every broken piece of your life or that of somebody else’s.

You can’t fix every mistake, clean up every mess that you have made though you are thinking it is God who have disappointed you. You may be trying to pay a debt that you cannot possibly pay.  Perhaps,  it is time that you simply receive God’s mercy and forgiveness so you can move on with your life.

Forgive God when you feel down and disappointed. Please understand also that you should not take the easy way out ignoring responsibility for your actions. You may need to seek forgiveness and seek restitution to those you have hurt.

Why God Allows Disappointments

It is easy to say we are disappointed by God. But God’s ways are not our ways – Isaiah 55:8. God want us to be very strong in him and that’s why He permits some situations. Look at what happened when prophet Samuel had a horrible disappointment in his relationship with the first king of Israel, a man named Saul. This young man was humble and shy.  But Samuel heed to God’s direction somewhere to pick him out of Israel.  Samuel did his best to help Saul pleasing unto God.

Unfortunately Saul refused to leave in obedience to God,  and God was like I’m going to eventually reject him as the king, imagine how Samuel must have felt. Maybe you’ve invested a lot of time money, efforts,  emotions, energy in a relationship. You did your best to make it work but it didn’t work out for one reason or the other.

To Strengthen Our Faith

God allows things in our lives to make us better and not bitter. To strengthen our faith and not to weaken us.

God went on to tell Samuel, pick up your horn with oil and be on your way I am sending you to the house of Jesse for I have chosen one of the songs to be the new king.

Remember God always has alternative plans. Saul was God’s first choice but when Saul wouldn’t walk in obedience. He blew it and that ruins everything. If you will stop feeling sorry for yourself and instead do what the Bible says the future can be brighter than ever.

Can God Be Trusted?

tired of God letting you down

When you feel let down with God, one of the most important keys a life of Faith as well as moving forward into the great future God has for you is learning to overcome the disappointments in life because disappointments can post such formidable obstacles to letting go of the past. You need to be sure you have dealt with this area.

God Will Never Let Me Down

God never let me down. I have gone through rough times in life, that is why I know this. One thing I saw also is that God never comes late. He is always on time. And that is one thing about faith that you must also know. God is faithful.

He Won’t Let You Down

Perhaps you feel you have blown it.  Your life is in shambles and beyond repair.

You may have many trials and tribulations and it seem there is no way out. Just hold on a little longer, there is light at the end of the tunnel.

God will not lift you up to let you down, be encouraged!

Quit Living In The Negative

We all can look back and see things in our lives that we wish would have done differently. What the Bible say is this: make the most of each day. Yesterday’s gone tomorrow may not come you must live for today knowing fully well that God can be trusted.  You can trust God for your future. Stop right where you are. What you can do a lot about what remains.  How to trust God I strongly believe that God can be trusted indeed

When God Disappoints You

Seek forgiveness and move on.  Quick to let go of your mistakes and failures. The disappointments that disturb us the most are usually those caused by other people.

Faith And Disappointment

Disappointments almost always accompany setbacks. When you suffer loss, of course you will feel strong emotions. Nobody expects to be an impenetrable rock or an inaccessible island in the sea. Not even God expect you to be so tough that you simply ignore the disappointments in life. No, when we experience failure or Loss in life to feel sorrow. Have faith in God, it keeps you strong during tough times.

Release It And Let It Go

But no matter what we have gone through no matter how unfair it was or how disappointed we were, we must release it and let it go. Somebody may have walked out on you or may have done you a great wrong.  The Bible says the secret things belong to God leave them there. God won’t let you down.

Sermon On Disappointment

I know some sermons can lift your spirit when you feel down and disappointed. These words of encouragement by Joyce Meyer. Also a thirteen minutes short sermon by Bill Johnson blessed my heart and I think you will love it.

When People Let You Down

The enemy loves to deceive us into self pity and feeling sorry for ourselves.  Why did this happen to me God must not love me.  He doesn’t answer my prayers.

I may even be helpful to consider for a season.  What’s after that quit wasting your time trying to figure out something that can’t change.  You can’t unscramble eggs. So you’ve suffered setbacks you didn’t get what you were praying for didn’t go your way,  friend you are not alone.  Many upstanding individuals experienced something similar.

Focus On Your Future

The Bible says the mercy of God are new every single day. God knows we’re going to make mistakes. He knows we’re not perfect so He therefore provides fresh new mercy and grace every day

God doesn’t condone our sense it doesn’t wink at a wrongdoing but God doesn’t automatically condemn.  The Bible says the Lord is patient towards us not wishing that any should perish but for all to come to repentance. You must be willing to accept God’s messy.  You can’t be so critical of yourself that you want to receive what God has to offer.

How To Get More Joy Out of Your Life

What you speak affect your moods, your decisions, and how you feel. They can make the difference in our attitude, relationships, and what kind of life you

We can have joy by using our words to encourage and bless those around us. If you want to enjoy your life, let God use you to make other people happy. Because the happier you make other people, the happier you will be. The more effective your faith will grow to continue the cycle.

How To Defeat Disappointment

Notice what God told Samuel to do: feel your horn with oil,  of a fresh new attitude,  put a smile on your face,  get the Sprint back in your step,  and be on your way.

Don’t become trapped in the past.  Fill your heart with the Word of God. The Bible says the message of God a fresh and new every single day.  God knows we’re going to make mistakes God knows we’re not perfect so it provides fresh new mercy and Grace every day.

God doesn’t condone our sins; doesn’t wink at our wrong doings. God doesn’t automatically condemn us.  The Bible says the Lord is patient towards us not wishing that any should perish but for all to come to repentance. You must be willing to accept God’s mercy.  You can’t be so critical of yourself that you want to receive what God has to offer.

Are you still asking: Why did this happen to me God must not love me. He doesn’t answer my prayers. My marriage ended in divorce, why? Failure in business but why? Things aren’t working out, why? You’ve suffered setbacks you didn’t get what you were praying for. Things didn’t go your way, friend you are not alone. Many upstanding believers experienced similar circumstances.

What’s after that quit wasting your time trying to figure out something that can’t change. You can’t unscramble eggs. Let the past be the past and go on with your life.

Forget About It!

We all encounter circumstances that can grow negative pieces or make us disappointed with ourselves or God. Apostle Paul said;  forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead I press on toward the goal (Philippians 3:13).

Every morning when you get up renew your mind and refuse to dwell on what you did wrong the day before, instead declare the faithfulness of God will over your life and your day, command your day to favor you.  Free things to do in on yesterday’s disappointment ghetto each day knowing that God is a loving and forgiving God and he has great things in store for you.

It is not always easy to get over some of the things and the bumps in the road,  it’s just going to take a strong wheel sometimes it may take courage sometimes, nothing but faith in God will see you through.

I strongly believe this letter has encouraged you. Remain in His love!

How To Make Quality Decisions: 7 Faith Steps

Have you also been in a situation when you are in a fix and you really want to know how to make quality decisions? Quality decisions is a step in the line of making right choices. Everyone that must succeed and fulfill their God given dreams must learn how to make quality decisions. Of course the foremost thing will be to pray and receive direction from God.

I should think discovering God’s will is one of the most difficult quality decision or task any Christian must experience. There are always doubts whether or not we are in the “center” of this “nailing jello to the wall” will. This inspirational article might just change the way you view how we can follow God in a godly manner.

In learning how to make quality decisions, God sometimes gives you freedom in your choices. And we might be given several possibilities, both of which God can work in our lives. He does not force the issue. But through circumstances and other criteria, we can be thought how to make quality decisions.

So, in this post this is what you should expect:

  1. You’re A Person of Destiny

  2. You Have A Purpose in Life

  3. What Does The Bible Say About Decision Making?

  4. How Do You Pray About Your Decisions?

  5. How Do You Hear God In Making Quality Decisions?

  6. What Makes Your Decision A Wise One

  7. Trusting God In Making Decisions

  8. Making Tough Decisions With God’s Help

  9. The Process of Making Quality Decisions

  10. How To Make Quality Decisions – 7 Faith Steps (Moses As Case Study)

    I. Esteeming
    II. Refusing
    IV. Forsaking
    V. Enduring
    VI. Continuing Your Passion
    VII. Passing Through

You’re A Person of Destiny

God has a specific plan for your life. Before the foundation of the world, He chose you to live at this particular time and season. Regardless of what you may have been told or taught, you’re not a mistake! God knew you before you were formed in your mother’s belly – Jeremiah 1.5 If you can develop your faith muscle enough you can get through the ups and downs of fulfilling your destiny.

You Have A Purpose

He made you with a purpose, and you’re a vital part of His divine plan to bring more people into the kingdom of God. I love to say this quote from late Myles Munroe, ‘when the purpose of a thing is not known, abuse is inevitable‘. In order to know and fulfill your God-given purpose you must make series of quality decisions through your life time. You must refuse to be led mainly by your emotions or unnecessary prevailing factors which always don’t last.

Quality decisions based on God’s word will place you on the right part at all times. However, bad and poor decisions will take you off course and prevent you from experiencing God’s best. You’re a free moral agent; you have a right to your own decisions. God won’t force you do anything. But I encourage you to make quality decisions because the results will not only impact you today but your unborn generation will also benefit either positively or negatively.

If you are not where you want to be in life, it is not the fault of God or the devil. Your current situation in life is the result of the choices you’ve made.

What Does The Bible Say About Decision Making?

A number of stories were explicit about decision making in the bible. Look at Abraham when God asked him to leave his native land to a land He will show him – Genesis 12:1, he made a quality decision that earned him favor with God much more that it was counted unto him for righteousness. Paul also made a decision to turn from his evil ways and now he wrote major parts of the new testament in the bible.

So, quality decisions will cause you to leave a remarkable mark on the sand of memory. Your generations unborn will call you blessed for it!

How Do You Pray About Your Decisions?

Prayer is a pivotal stage in making quality decisions. Unfortunately many overlook this step and hastily jump into decisions thereby falling into errors. There are Simple Ways You Can Pray to receive directions for from God on decisions you need to make.

Woman praying to God

It is not a complicated thing to do, you can just say: ‘father Lord, I need your guidance on this decision I need to make, please help me to make the right thing’. As simple as this is, God will honor it because He sees your heart that you are looking up to Him to help you. You can practice that for yourself today and see how awesome it can be

How Do You Hear God In Making Quality Decisions

You must hear from heaven if you are to be sure you want to make quality decisions. ‘My sheep hear my voice and I know them’ – John 10:27-28 This is an encouraging scripture to assure you again that you can hear God. You can hear God in making decisions by (1) Intentionally listening for the still small voice, (2) By being sensitive to circumstances around you (3) Through what other Godly people or mentors around you.

Those three methods I have used time and again and have been blessed with fruits of quality decisions

What Makes Your Decision A Wise One?

In order to make quality decisions, you must have a proof to show that you have made a great choice. The fruits of those decisions alone can tell the world about the faith step you took to bring those results.

Everyone wants to succeed, no one wants to be a failure. For a decision to be a wise one it must be based on the strength of God’s Word. Such decision based on God’s Word Can Move You to the Top so Fast and make you rule in your world

Trusting God In Your Decisions

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. Without me you can do nothing! That’s what God said. God has all power to make your dreams come through. What you want to avoid is fear of the unknown. God has all the means to cause your decisions to be fruitful, but He needs faith in order to intervene in those issues and choices we need to make.

You cannot be too careful and do nothing, all in the name of not wanting to fail. But a sure a safe way to go about things is to just Trust God Through it All no matter how they look.

Making Tough Decisions With God’s Help

It can be daunting to make tough decisions, this is why you need God’s help. Poor decisions can be so costly. It is crucial to emphasize the need for the Holy Spirit here. You want to learn how to make quality decisions? Then Holy Spirit must be your close ally.

Tough decisions are not the ones you just make casually because if not done well can lead to major losses. All you need to do is to be sincere wit God. Trust Him with every process all the way. Show that you cannot make the decision without His help, and He will help you.

This bible passage readily came to mind: Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your path – Proverbs 3:5, you may also want to check it out. What a great assurance that no matter how tough that decision may be, you can make it and have a good result with the help of God.

The Process of Quality Decisions

There are seven steps of making quality decisions. We will look at them one by one to see how you can relate and also take some actionable steps towards making quality decision that will help you develop strong faith in God and bring you memorable positive results.

There is a man in the bible I like to use as a case in this study, his name is Moses. He made some quality decisions that we can also learn from.

By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season. Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompense of the reward ‘- Hebrews 11:24-26

How To Make Quality Decisions: 7 Faith Steps: Case Study- Moses

Notice three powerful words in that above scripture: refused, choosing and esteeming. Let’s examine these words and the rest in that scripture more closely in terms of how they relate to quality decisions in your life.

1. Esteeming

To esteem something is to give it value or prominence. When you esteem something you judge, measure and attribute high importance to it. Moses esteemed the reproach of Christ of greater value than the treasures of the land. He placed a higher value on suffering with his people than enjoying the pleasures available to him. He knew the will of God for his life could afford him all the riches and even much more.

Likewise, in your quality decision making process, you must first of all assign value to your choices. Evaluate which one has or carries the most weight. Is pleasing God more important than pleasing others? God’s approval should be valuable to you than the approval of your friends, work acquaintances or family. Give this a thought as it counts towards quality decisions.

You will never make quality decisions until you value God’s words

For any decision to be a quality, it must be based on God’s word. The Word of God must be the basis for your career choice, place to live, marriage, finance, employment and so on. You will not make quality decisions until you value God’s word. If His words is not esteemed in your life, you will make costly decisions instead.

2. Refusing

Another step to making quality decisions is ‘refusing’. To refuse means to vehemently deny or denounce and disown. Moses refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. He denounced and refused his position as a member of the royal family; can you imagine? He did this so he could pursue the will of God.

He couldn’t sit quietly and watch the injustice and oppression his people suffered at the hands of the Egyptians.

3. Choosing

The third step to making quality decisions is ‘choosing’. To choose means to intentionally make a choice. There are many choices you are faced with in life. Your decision about those choices lead to poor or quality results. Moses refused to stay connected to Israel’s oppressors and that enabled him to chose to suffer affliction with the people of God rather than enjoying the pleasures of sin for a season – Hebrews 11:25. This was a quality decision on the part of this young man.

Moses’ quality decision ultimately led to the freedom of a large population of people. You see, if you are currently in an unfavorable situation or you suddenly find yourself in a detestable state in life, things can change for you quick. This may mean sickness, foreclosure, legal battles, unemployment, divorce, difficult child and so on. Whatever the case may be please refuse to accept those negative circumstances and choose to be free from any entanglement of the enemy.

Refuse to accept debts, poverty and anything that negates the plan of God for your life. Believe and have some certain powerful daily decrees that you proclaim over your life everyday!

4. Forsaking

In order to be skilled on how to make quality decisions, you must be able to ‘forsake’. What does it mean to forsake? it mean to leave something behind. Moses forsook Egypt, which represented bondage and the world’s system of doing things. Are you willing to forsake the things of this world that are holding you in bondage and drawing you away from God and your dreams. Things like worldly pleasure, sin, telling lies, cheating others or habits, attitudes and even relationships. These things hinders your ability to make quality decisions.

Only you can say those areas of your life that are a hindrance to your spiritual growth and your relationship with God. Take some steps on those areas where necessary. Whatever they are if you want to set yourself on the path to destiny, you’ve got to forsake those things that will hinder your destiny.

5. Endurance

The next faith step to making quality decision is endurance. To endure means to carry something up to completion. To hang in there until you see the results you believe will come.

Once you have now forsaken things that can hinder your glorious destiny, it is necessary to be ready to endure and make it through the challenges that will come your way. You make up your mind, take your stand and weather the storm to get to the perfect completion

6. Keep On Trusting God

Continue doing what good you already know to do. You see, in order to know how to make quality decisions you must not forget the good works and the great experiences of how God has moved in your situation. We all have a past, as for me I know how God has sustained me through terrible situations. So, this keeps me trusting God even more.

Regardless of your situation, trust God, cast your cares on Him for He cares about you. He will help you work out the quality decisions you need to make. He is the one who gives you the boldness and courage to take that step on what will eventually end up a quality decision.

7. Pass Through

This is a major faith step in knowing how to make quality decisions. You must pass through. In Isaiah 43: 2-3 the scripture says ‘when you pass through the waters, I will be with you and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you; when you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon you. For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Savior.

Isn’t it wonderful to know God is with you as you pass through everything that tries to hinder your quality decision making process? When you feel like quitting, go back to the Word of God and receive encouragement. Have confidence in God. Your heavenly father is right there with you. You can never make mistake! Even when it happens that you do, He will sustain and carry you. He will support you in making decisions that are quality and in line with His Word and His will.

How do you relate to any of the above steps?

The best privilege you can offer yourself on this side of eternity is to trust God to lead you to make quality decisions. With Him on your side, leading you, you can never miss it.

This is why you can take this opportunity to give your heart completely to God. Ask Him to come and rule and reign. You can pray like this:

Lord Jesus I come to you just as I am. I confess my sins, I forsake them and ask for forgiveness. Please write my name in the book of life. Thank you for saving my soul.

Thank you for taking time to read, please feel free to share.

Transformed By The Renewing Of Your Mind

Renewing your mind in any area of life will make you blossom in that particular area. Be it in the area of faith, finance, health, marriage and so on.

God’s ultimate goal is for each one of us to be transformed by the renewing of our mind.

This is accomplished when we renew our minds. God wants to sanctify us and transform us into the express image of His Son Jesus Christ. This is His ultimate goal for us

1. What Does It Mean To Renew Your Mind?

To renew your mind means to change the focus of your mind in the way God wants it. Romans 12:2 carefully gives more insight on renewing your mind. ‘be renewed in the spirit of your mind’ To be a shining light in this world, you can’t think or live like the people of the world. You must be a positive influence on everyone that crosses your path. You do this by demonstrating Christ-like character and a living, good example.

2. What You Will Learn In This Article:

  • You will develop faith muscles to remain a positive outlook about your life.
  • You will learn strategies to avoid activities that can hinder the success of your Christian walk with God.
  • Reject old attitudes and take on new ways of faith, hope and love.

3. The Process of Renewing Your Mind

hand on a bible

3.1) Knowledge of The Word of God

1 Peter 2: 2 ” As new born babes, desire the sincere milk of the Word, that ye may grow thereby”.

The first and most important thing is the Word. Knowledge of the word of God is the foundation for renewing your mind. Through this knowledge each Christian will know exactly what it is that God wants to change about us. To succeed or do anything meaningful in life you must make double sure that your heart is filled with God’s word.

You can only renew your mind through the word of God. Because the word of God is so powerful. When you feed on the word you will proof the good, acceptable and perfect will of God.

Isaiah 55:8 – God’s word will not return void but perform at all times.

Jeremiah 1:12 – God watches over His word to perform it.

Isaiah 40:8 ‘The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever’.

3.2) The Power of Your Thoughts

Your thinking faculty is very critical when it comes to the renewing of your mind. There is power in the word of God to turn our lives around. To make us what God wants us to be. This Word of God has the power to make you all God created you to be.

What you think on most of the time will eventually be the result you will come out with. But when your thoughts is filled with Gods words even your prayers will get answered easily. To pray and receive miracles from God the word must be firmly rooted in you for the miracle to feed upon.

3.3) Help of The Holy Spirit

The holy spirit plays a crucial role in the renewing of your mind. ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the LORD Almighty – Nehemiah 4:6b

In the three step process mentioned above that will get this transformation process going for you – the first two steps is a do-it-yourself. God will now help you out through His Holy Spirit that lives within you.

4. Importance of Studying The Word

The study of God’s word is fundamental for your faith to grow. The more you feed on the word of God the more renewed your mind will be. The word of God is like the GPS that leads us to the will of God and His purpose for our lives. Until we choose to plant that word in our heart the harvest of transformation of our hearts cannot come.

Good success comes as you meditate in the word and this gives you understanding. Joshua 1:8 and Psalm 119:105

4.1) The Power of Right Thinking

King David tells us in the Old Testament that we are to meditate on the Word of God. Proverbs chapter 23, verse 7: “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he”. … For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee. Right thinking means to think and meditate on what God said instead of what the world says or how they view things.

5. Uphold Positive Qualities Over Negative

There are positive and negative qualities in our lives. Your qualities in life is an important pathway towards renewing your mind. This is where many Christians are missing it. Your quality of life determines the quality of decisions you make.

What are your essential life qualities?

  • Do you lie frequently,
  • Are you quick to obey God’s word?
  • Do you believe the promises of God?
  • Do you reference the things of God?

These are little foxes that spoil the vine according to Song of Solomon 2:15

5.1) Power of Right Thinking

One great quality of a faith filled life is the way you think. Right thinking always lead you to right destinations. You must have certain things you don’t allow to enter into your thought life because they will eventually play out in the results you achieve in life.

5.2) Be Really Intentional About Your Actions

Now here is where your part will really come into play. Say someone has just cut you off in traffic. Your bad temper has now been fully triggered like it does every time someone cuts you off in traffic.

But all of a sudden you now remember what the word of God says to show love and forgive; you will certainly act differently than you would have previously done. You are been transformed by the renewing your mind. Let the word of God heal you and set you free from hurts

5.3) Maintain The Good Quality of Self Control

Self-control is one of the qualities that God wants to impart and work into your personality. You will see this positive quality mentioned numerous times in the verses to follow in these other articles.

5.4) Positive Qualities Improve Your Personality

The same approach goes for trying to incorporate positive qualities into your personality. The Bible tells us that God wants us to be loving, kind, generous, and gentle people.

What God wants you to do anyway is to try and “put on” some of these positive and godly qualities.

5.5) Renew Your Mind Day By Day

Each one of us only has a certain amount of mental and emotional strength in our own personal makeups. To renew your mind, it is a wise thing to take day by day steps. This can be in the form of reading verses of the scripture every waking hour of the day.

5.6) Spend More Time In The Word

One of the most potent ways for your faith to get stronger in God is through the word! What does it mean to spend more time in the word? It means to get your bible and read, study, ponder, meditate until you receive a revelation from God. It is also referred to as a way to fellowship with God. You may have to engage some helpful bible study tools to do this.

6. Engaging The Power of The Holy Spirit

To renew your mind requires great assistance from the Holy Spirit. God said without me ye can do nothing!

Holy Spirit lives on the inside of each believer is a power source from where everything evolves. Many Christians already know this. The Holy Spirit is our standby help.

John 14:26 But the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will help you remember everything that I have told you

Look at some frequently asked questions about the Holy Spirit:

  1. Where is the Holy Spirit?

The Holy Spirit is inside every child of God. He helps you to renew your mind by giving you understanding of the word of God that you study. He does this through the inward witness.

  2. How come He is not removing some of my negative qualities?

You have a responsibility to take action on your quality of life. It is not the fault of God how you become in life. He has already made all provisions for your good life (Ephesians 2:10) but He will not force you to do what you don’t what to do.

  3. How come I am still crabby, miserable, and depressed all of the time?

You are what you are because you have not fully allowed the transformation power of renewing your mind to take charge in your life.

6.1) Take Responsibility

And these will be His divine qualities and attributes being imparted into you – not yours! You only have a certain amount of love within your own natural personality to give and to express to others.

6.2) God Is Love

His love, joy, and peace will now be replacing those negative emotions. You cannot be depressed and unhappy if the love and joy of God is operating in your personal

This is not to say we will never get crabby, irritable, or down at times. We all live in a fallen and cursed world and we are

6.3) There is No Other Way

There is no other way! Nothing else in this life will give us peace and happiness. After you get saved, God expects you to grow, develop, and mature in your walk with Him.

The Bible tells us that with the measure we use, will be the measure measured back to us.

The one thing we all have to realize is that every single one of us is flawed to some degree. We all have our character flaws and rough edges. No exceptions.

This sanctification process is not done overnight. This is a process that will occur over the rest of your earthly life.

6.4) You Have a Reward

Your reward for allowing God to do this type of inner sanctifying work in your life are many.

You will find true inner peace, happiness, and fulfillment.

Many nonbelievers have stated that what drew them to certain Christians and got them saved was the peace, joy, and love that seemed to be operating through their personalities.

through Jesus, and disciple many other believers into a deeper walk with the Lord.

This sanctification process is available to all believers. God wants to do this with every single one of us. The problem is that many of God’s people are not willing to do their part of the process.

6.5) Take Action

If you decide you really want God to start this sanctification process within you then take action.

After reading through this entire article, please also check the scripture verses on renewing your mind – then all you have to do is go to God in prayer and tell Him that you’re willing and obedient and ready to be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

This way, He has a full solid green light from you to start this process.

7. Seven Benefits of Renewing Your Mind

7 benefits of renewing your mind

7.1) Deeper Understanding

Renewing the mind is a deliberate action. One of the foremost benefits of renewing your mind is deeper understanding of divine mysteries.

scriptures is that they help you to see and understand things on a higher level. You will go deeper in your love with the Lord and soar higher in your relationship with Him.

According to Matthew 13:19 you are vulnerable to the enemy if you hear the Word and don’t strive to receive understanding.

7.2) Self Identity

You know who you are. Not what the devil says you are. The knowledge of your self identity can keep strong and make you develop a strong faith in your God and having access to the blessings God has promised you.

1 Peter 2:9 – ‘But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light

7.3) Refuse To Accept Defeat

Renewing your mind makes you stand your ground against defeat and the lies of the enemy. You have authority over the enemy at all times. To renew your mind you must refuse to accept defeat and accept the fact that you’re a winner!

Check this out:

Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place – 2 Corinthinas’ 2:14

‘For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith’ – 1 John 5:4

7.4) No More Fear and Poverty

You have now renewed your mind to know what the word of God says about the implication of fear. ‘There is no fear in love; For God hath not given us the spirit of fear 2 Timothy 1:7. Renewing your mind gives you victory over the lie of the enemy.

You refuse to live in poverty and lack. You see, God takes pleasure in the prosperity of His servants – Psalm 35:27. A genuine child of God should never be broke any more day. Remember, it is the truth that you know that can set you free. This freedom comes from renewing your mind. Renewing your mind to your covenant right to wealth is a key to your breakthrough in this area.

7.5) Healing Is For You

Healing is your covenant right as a believer. But you can only know this when your mind is renewed through the word of God. Meditating on scriptures about God’s promises of healing will give you the faith to overcome sickness and disease, and to walk in divine health. Yes! It is possible.

1 Peter 2:24, KJV: “Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.” … By his wounds you are healed.”

7.6) Stand Your Ground Against The Enemy

You refuse the burdens the enemy tries to put on you. Jesus has removed all burdens, refuse to be weighed down by them. Renewing your mind and meditating on the scriptures will give you access to victorious living. Luke 10:19 ‘Behold I give unto you power to thread upon serpents and scorpions and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Dare to believe God’s Word and experience change in your spirit. Time and time again,

God has proven that renewing your mind is the pathway to success in every area of life. Embrace a new way of thinking that may be outside your comfort zone. Allow Him to prove His power in your life and family. Your life will never be the same.

7.7) You’ll Be Able To Fulfill The Will of God

There is nothing more joyful in this life than to know, follow and fulfill the will of God. The easiest way to be able to do this is simply by the renewing of your mind with the word of God.

Romans 12:2, KJV: “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Out of all the benefits of renewing your mind, this stands alone as the best. The good, acceptable and perfect will of God is what you want to pursue. When you are living in the center of the will of God; you’re in the best place, where there is provision, peace, love, joy and every good things life can offer.

The best thing you can ever do in life is to renew your mind. All the best of life comes to you as you commit the word of life to heart and it bears fruit for you to harvest.

If you have not given your life to Jesus, this is a wonderful opportunity to start all over again. You will start a brand new journey of renewing your mind from now on. Please say this short prayer:

Lord Jesus I come to you just as I am. I confess my sins and ask that you please forgive me. I confess you as my Lord and saviour. Write my name in the book of life, I will serve you forever and ever.

Thank you Lord for saving me. Amen!

Fear: Expectation Vs Reality of God’s Word

Fear; this should have nothing to do with you. As a child of the Most High God, you have nothing to fear! No matter how challenging the circumstance or how large and terrible the obstacle may be, you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you – Philippians 3:13

When you feel uncertain or afraid, you can take a step of faith, determine to develop strong faith to fight fear in its entirety. You know that God is in control. People don’t have the final say, only God has the final say and He says that you are an overcomer! Don’t fear anything.

Are You Living in Fear?

So, you are afraid. We all do from time to time as we journey through life and are confronted with one challenge or the other. Of course we we are in this world but not of this world but fear should not rule you. When fear comes, we should not take it or react the way things come. Someone said 20% is what happens to you but 80% is what you make of it. This means that it is not what happens or what has happened that matters but the way you react that is very important.

In this study, we want to go on a deep learning journey. This will shed more light on what fear is, your expectations in life, the reality of God’s word to rule over fear and how your faith links in between the three to bring about Godly results.

What is Fear?

  • Fear is an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat. Fear is a human emotion that is triggered by a perceived threat
  • In 1 John 4:18 the bible says fear is that which brings torment.
  • Fear works against your faith in God

Everyone experiences fear in their life. There are big fears we are very aware of and little ones we may not even realize we have. I’ve learned that it’s very important to understand what fear is and how it works against us because if we don’t, it can keep us from becoming what God created us to be, which means we won’t fulfill our purpose in life.

Fear Is Evil Scheme

Fear is a tool the devil uses against us to make us miserable and destroy our lives. It begins as a thought and then creates emotions that can rule us. It often becomes a strong, intense feeling that tries to move us to make a foolish action or tries to prevent us from doing something that would be good for us. Because it’s such a common way that Satan attacks people’s lives, I think of it as the master spirit he uses to manipulate people and keep them out of God’s will.

Expectation Vs Reality

Expectation is a strong belief that something will happen or be the case in future. Proverbs 23:18 ‘the expectation of the righteous shall not be cut short’. Meanwhile, reality means the state of things as they actually exist and we can see.

Now, let’s dive in.

Fear is Satan’s Destructive Power

Fear is oppression. It brings sin and destroys good things. But there is no fear in love. God’s love brings healing, deliverance, safety and blessings! As a believer, you know that you’re the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.

man with his hands cover his face in fear

What does this mean? Jesus shed his blood so we can exchange our unrighteousness for his righteousness.  2 Corinthians 5:21. We have been made His righteousness, the very righteousness of God himself. When we are established in his righteousness, walking in his commandments of love then His perfect love in us begins to cast out all fear – 1 John 4:18

Satan is a terrorist, his weapon again the believer is fear. Isaiah 54:14 ‘In righteousness shall thou be established, you shall be far from oppression, for you shall not be fear and from terror, for it shall not come near you’

5 Types of Fear

  • Fear of failure
  • Of the unknown
  • When you fear success
  • Fear of the past
  • Being afraid of your past

20 Most Common Fear

  1. Anxiety
  2. Concerns
  3. Despair
  4. Dismay
  5. Doubt
  6. Dread
  7. Horror
  8. Jitters
  9. Panic
  10. Sacre
  11. Terror
  12. Uneasiness
  13. Worry
  14. Agitation
  15. Misgiving
  16. Distress
  17. Easily Trembling
  18. Corwardice
  19. Phobia
  20. Faint in the heart

Why Do We Fear?

We fear because we yield to Satan’s suggestions. You see, fear is the opposite of faith. They both are in opposite directions. God wants us to walk by faith but Satan wants us to walk by fear. For we walk by faith and not by sight – 2 Corinthians 5:7. When we learn to live by faith and not let fear rule our life, we can live a successful and peaceful life in Christ.

Causes of Fear

I will say the main cause of fear is the absence of faith. Looking at the example of what happened in Mark 4:35-41 That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.” 36 Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him. 37 A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. 38 Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?”39 He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. 40 He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?

Jesus asked the disciples why they are in fear. Do they still have faith? That is it. When you don’t have faith in God fear is inevitable. The antidote to fear therefore is faith!

Effects of Fear

Generally, fear is not healthy for your spirit, soul and body. Please see the following effects of fear:

  1. Fear brings torment – 1 John 4:18
  2. Living in fear has serious health consequences: a study from Earl. E Bakken Center for Spirituality and Healing reveals that fear has four effects which affects physical health, memory issues, brain processing and reactivity and mental health.

3 Things To Remember When Facing Fear

A deeper meditation on Psalm 23 will open your eyes to some three things to remember when facing fear. Verse 4: ‘Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me’.

two hands lifts to heaven of fear not

1. You Are Not Alone, God is With You

The presence of God in your life stops all fear. Stop focusing on your fear, what’s scaring you, and focus on Jesus. He is with you right now and will never leave nor forsake you. . When you get your focus off of your fear, you can focus on God and what he wants to do through you.

You may not be able to see him, but he is there saying to you, ‘do not fear’.Valleys are different for a believer than a non-believer. That difference isn’t the absence of the shadow. It’s the presence of the Shepherd. God’s presence with you during fear makes the situation workout in your favour in the end.

2. God Has Purpose For Everything In Life

Fear is an indication of an issue that is not pleasant with us. But most of the time, God always has a purpose in every situation we find ourselves. This is why we must not give in to fear. Psalm 23 tells us over and over God works for our good.

He gives us everything we need (v. 1), gives us rest (v. 2), gives us strength (v. 3), and leads us down the right path (v. 3). Psalm 23:6 says, “Your goodness and love will be with me all my life” (GNT). The consistent message of Scripture is that God cannot do evil. As we go through valley situations, we need to remember that God will use these difficult days for our good. Therefore, always say to yourself ‘no fear here’

He Can Work Through Your Fear

Furthermore, we must know that God loves to take the difficult times of our lives and use them to build our character. Paul tells us this in Romans 5:3-4: “We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation” (NLT).Hosea 2:15 says, ““I will transform the Valley of Trouble into a gateway of hope!” (NLT). God will do this through today’s valley as well. He will work it out for your good! As believers, we can be absolutely certain that there is a purpose in our pain.

3. Fear or No Fear, Our Reward Will Last Forever

When in fear, the third thing we need to remember is that no matter what happens to our earthly bodies, this is not the end of the story. Heaven will be worth any valley we go through today. There we will be rewarded for our faithfulness during our time on earth.

The Bible says heaven is real—and we’ll be there forever. No valley, no matter how long it seems now, will last near that long. So, do not fear a thing!2 Corinthians 4:17 says, “We have small troubles for a while now, but they are helping us gain an eternal glory that is much greater than the troubles” (NCV). I don’t know what fear keeps you up at night. Maybe you’re scared of getting sick.

God Will Work Good Out Of Your Situation

Maybe you’re scared of someone you love getting sick. Maybe you’re scared you’ll have to close your business or loose your job. However, I do know God will work good out of this situation. I know the valley won’t last. A word of encouragement; please take some time to soak in and meditate on Psalm 23 sometime today. It is one of my powerful daily scripture declaration every day

We’ll walk through this valley together as we look at it in light of eternity. Revelation 21:4 tells us: [God] will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever” (NLT).

This is not the end of the story.

X. GOD’S WORD LEADS TO RECOVERY: God’s word plays a major important role of recovery in our lives.

The ABC of Ruling In Life

God is a God of principles, one of the tools you can use to rule your world is the word of God. Now, lets look at

A. Abiding in The Vine

In John 15, Jesus reveals to us just how important abiding in Him truly is. In fact, He considered it such a critical matter that He spoke to His disciples strongly about it just before He went to the cross. Therefore, we should pay careful attention to the words He said:

I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

B. Believing And Pleasing The Father

There is nothing that pleases the father more than abiding in the vine. Because as you experience a relationship with Jesus by abiding in Him , you will desire to have more of God. This then makes you want to believe Him more and please Him more. In Genesis 18:19 God said of Abraham ‘For I know that he will command his children and his household after him and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgement, that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.

We Must Do Our Part

We have a part to play and God had His part. Abraham’s part was to cooperate with the Lord. If Abraham didn’t do that, if he didn’t obey what God told him to do, God couldn’t have fulfilled His promise to Abraham to make him rule and be a father of many nations, even though that was His will.

Our part is to believe and to walk pleasing before Him – to think His thoughts and speak His words and walk in His ways.

C – Confidence In The Holy Spirit

1 John 4.4 – ‘Ye have of God little children, and have overcome them; because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world’

Confidence in the Holy Spirit is key, in order for us to rule in life, enjoy real day-to-day, moment-by-moment victory. We must develop a deeper faith in the Greater One who is living within us. We must cultivate an awesome appreciation for the indwelling Holy Spirit

Final Thoughts About God’s Word

You can reach your destination of ruling in life. It is your responsibility to understand the role God’s word plays. I encourage you today to be firmly rooted and grounded in God’s word, no matter what the situation looks like. Make a decision to trust God’s promises. And your life will be headed directly to the ruling dynasty that God has pre-ordained for you to live.

Developing Strong Faith in God

Simply, a strong faith is laying hold on the unrealities of hope and bringing them into the realm of reality. It is believing what you have not yet received, believing and acting in confidence that you already have it. That’s exactly what faith is. Strong faith works by acting on the word of God. Weak faith does not

Faith can be deeply defined through the lines of Hebrews 11, ‘where it says ‘Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen’. You will notice two important phrases here:

  • ‘Substance of things’: a way to show that you have that thing
  • ‘Evidence of things’: proof that you have that thing

Faith is about things. What are you believing for? Developing strong faith in God can help you get it delivered to your hands in good time

What is Strong Faith in God?

Faith is the parent force of everything that can be seen on this planet with the physical eyes. It is the substance or the evidence or proof of things not yet seen with the natural eye, something not yet revealed in the physical realm. The thing is already there but you have not seen it yet. Trust and strong faith in God makes the unseen things real!

God is the almighty being. The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. Gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak – Isaiah 40.28. He also have the following credentials:

  • Totally dependable
  • Absolutely reliablePsalm 46.1
  • Faithful and trust worthy
  • He is the ultimate creator. He made everything. In whom we live and move and have our being – Acts 17:28

Faith is Not…

There are many things we think we know about faith which we are not really knowledgeable. In order for us to go from faith to faith we must know that:

  • Faith is not works
  • It is not hope
  • Again, faith is not waiting on God to do everything and you fold your hands, that is weak and not a strong faith in God.

Developing Strong Faith As A Christian

Strong faith is trusting God with the details of your life even when we are not sure of how things will turn out. It is believing and trusting God despite contrary evidences. Look at the example of Abraham in Romans 4:18-22 to illustrate a case study of developing strong faith in God.

Against All Hope

Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, “So shall your offspring be. Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead—since he was about a hundred years old—and that Sarah’s womb was also dead

Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised. This is why “it was credited to him as righteousness.”

Abraham trained himself to develop strong faith in God because his situation can obviously be determined by such.

What Does Bible Say About Strong Faith In God?

The bible has a lot to say about faith and how we can develop strong faith in our strong God. Trusting God for provisions, healing, deliverance, victory, favor, restoration, salvation and much more are stories of strong faith as practically displayed

Careful analysis of Hebrews 11:1 shows us that Faith is the confirmation, the title deed of the things we hope for being the proof of things we do not see and the conviction in our heart of the reality of those things in our lives. Faith perceives as real fact what is not revealed to the 5 sense of sight, taste, vision, hearing and touch.

A good bible verse for healing like Isaiah 53:5 is a way to declare scriptures daily over that health situation and command healing of a loved one or for yourself. The same is true for finance, legal battles and so on.

The Difference Between Faith and Hope

Hope is the earnest expectation and waiting on something that will happen in the future. Don’t ever stop hoping! You see, people who quit hoping have a miserable life – Romans 5:5

Remember what David said in his own time of discouragement: ‘why hath thou cast down oh my soul? Why hath thou disquieted within me? Hope thou in God for I shall yet praise Him for the help of His countenance’ – Psalm 42:5

God Is A God Of Good Things

God is a God of good things and miracles and He can do anything if you only hope in Him. Stir up your hope and expect good things in your life beginning from today!

Faith on the other side is the substance of that thing that you are waiting for in the future.

‘Now, faith is…..

Seeing The Unseen By Faith

I know this may sound weird to see the unseen. You can see the unseen only with your eyes of faith. A strong faith is a linking force that translates the unseen into the seen. Awesome, isn’t that? Faith transmits things from the unseen realm to our hands in the seen realm.

How To Get Strong Faith

Through the entrance of God’s word you can strengthen your faith.

It is what you do with your faith that you already have that will determine if it will grow or not. This is what now brings us to the answer of ‘how to get faith’.

God upholds all things by the WORD of His power? It’s faith power. Faith is the name of the creative spiritual force of God and it is produced in the born-again human heart by hearing the WORD of God. The singular way to get or grow in your faith is by continually hearing the word of God and without ceasing.

10 Ways To Keep Your Faith Strong – Ephesians 6:10-18

  1. Make sure you take up the whole amour of God
  2. Stand your ground and be firm against the lies of the enemy
  3. Determine to be truthful to yourself and others at all times by the help of the holy spirit
  4. Have on your breastplate of righteousness always
  5. Share the gospel of peace, be a living witness to the power of God in any way you can
  6. Hold on your shield of faith, keep on believing, feed your faith and starve your fear
  7. Take the helmet of salvation with you everywhere you go, be a good example of Christ
  8. Use your sword of the spirit daily, this is the word of God in your eyes and in your mouth
  9. Pray always in the spirit, take time in the day to pray in the Holy Spirit build up yourself
  10. Be your brother’s keeper, intercede for those whom the Holy Spirit may lay on your heart

My Final Words on Faith

I will say Hebrews 11.1 is a chapter you may want to really read through. It is all about the people of God who dared to believe His promises. The sixth verse says ‘ without faith it is impossible to walk with God and to please Him, for whoever comes to God must necessarily believe that God exists and that He rewards those who earnestly and diligently seek Him’.

We know the devil tries to convince us that the heroes of faith we read about were special people and that we don’t have the kind of faith they did. If we renew our minds with God’s word we can be as strong as they are. We all have been given a degree or measure of faith to do anything God calls us to do.

You are special to God, I am special to God, we are all special to God. It is not in His nature to show partiality, giving faith to some and not to others but it depends on our response to His love.

Each and everyone of us have been equipped to do what we need to do in this life. Abraham did believe and it was counted unto righteousness unto him, we too can.

Never give up! Your breakthrough is on its way, can’t you see it with your eyes of faith? Keep believing, keep the faith!
